Frequently Asked Questions

1.) Why is the same gene annotated several times for a single variation?

Genes have numerous alternative transcripts which are often differentially affected by genetic variations. Therefore SG-ADVISER takes into account each individual transcript. This leads to more confusing, but more accurate interpretation of genetic variation.

2.) What does "*" mean in the "ConservedXXXway" results?

PhyloP values are given for base-specific variations (snps/deletions) but cannot be produced for insertions, therefore, a '*' is assigned.

3.) How many Wellderly individuals are included in the allele frequency calculation?

As of now 387 individuals with more on the way.

4.) What about non-human organisms?

Development of SG-ADVISER for non-human organisms is underway.
